Really grabbing at straws to dismiss the evidence of your eyes and ears here, huh?
Is this "vibe researching"?
I think the same thing every time. I've never had anyone read my meeting notes and they're better off in some sort of work order system anyways. All I'm hearing is an appeal to making the workplace more isolating. Don't…
Are you suggesting people are poor because they don't have good time management?
I don't agree at all that it's the easiest of careers. I never had to work free overtime as a postal clerk until 1AM because of a production bug in deployment I never had to figure out how to fix a fry machine…
But, according to the paper, that's not what's happening It's examining published news / research / whatever (input), making statistical predictions, and then comparing (playing) it against other predictions to…
This is my main concern. What's the point of other tools when none of the LLMs have been trained on it and you need to deliver yesterday? It's an insanely conservative tool
Not out of date, the author is probably planning on teaching how to program Windows via WinAPI. WSL2 and VSCode will probably be outside the scope of discussion when it comes to coding Windows apps from scratch
Yeah, except the bundling wasn't the problem. It was that Microsoft was using their size to build a giant moat around IE. If you wanted modern features, it was all on IE and behind their proprietary scripting languages…
> Companies don't have violence and only have rules in a limited sense. E.g. a company can't lock you in a box for failing to give it some of your money Companies certainly do "have violence" and certainly have locked…
> What Apple ought to be in trouble for is interfering with their operating system customers' ability to patronize competing app stores. This isn’t illegal. Equivalent to a “No outside food and drink” sign or not…
Not sure I agree with not starting work on it right away so you don’t finish early but, I’ve learned that constantly delivering earlier than you say can make people not believe your estimates - ditto for always being…
It stands for Effective Acceleration, I think
Except you can modify it and use it to develop games, it's licensed that way
Yeah, it's very hard to describe. Almost like you perceive the present moment and the past couple seconds at the same time. Time seems to pass by you very quickly but, then you look at the clock, and it's only been 5…
Thank you for summarizing why I left Windows app development and haven't looked back
> a) standing b) in a group of 1 or 2 You just need to find an arcade with some candy cabinets, those are seated. Also, most of them are set up for one player per cab with your opponent sitting on the other side of you
> The reality is all these machines are basically PCs now You could make the opposite argument back in the day. Arcade hardware was what home PCs, and consoles, tried to emulate. The truth is, these still use…
Yes. Raw Thrills, Sega, and Taito are still in the business of arcade machines. Pinball similarly has quite a few developers
> It's absolutely abusing market position, It’s definitely a “dick move” but, I’d have trouble calling it abusive. Having to buy expensive development kits is common in our industry
So, you're not the least bit concerned about a massive cloud company buying a huge competitive advantage? Sony uses Azure to host their own competitive offering, you don't think they're the least bit nervous that…
The article doesn’t use any C++ features, though. It’s straight C code. Pretty sure that’s what they meant
Ultimately, I'll use what I have to use. I, personally, don't like Rust's syntax and will miss the static inheritance of templates. There's a lot I won't miss, on the other hand My biggest issue with most Rust posts is…
