I love these types of posts. There is something really interesting about the detective work required to be able to talk to old devices like this.
I've climbed at Frenchman's Coulee before: https://goo.gl/maps/4pFfBLs13452 It's a really interesting place with some great scenery, but there isn't a huge variety of climbs on columnar basalt.
As a counterpoint, I quite like Carousel, and I haven't noticed any problems. Background uploads work for me, although it seems to wait until I am on wifi to upload.
