I’m in my 4th dev job of the last 12 years and every one of them has been wildly different in terms of structure, culture, tooling, work style, etc.
Because humans were designed by evolution, a process driven by random mutations and natural selection that can become stuck at local maxima rather than producing the best possible design.
Isn’t most of the data sent between your phone and the cell tower encrypted anyways? This would only catch voice calls and SMS right?
I would never work under em who wasn’t at one point at least a decent developer.
We really just need to figure out the paying for healthcare thing, and then get money out of politics, then America is undeniably the best place in the world to live. A few more trains would be nice too.

This tracks for me because I am a developer with a 4 year degree in a field completely unrelated to CS and I have never felt any of the stigma or othering from my coworkers on the measures you described.

Yeah but who wants to spend 45 minutes sitting around in a gas station parking lot? It be much nicer to install them in roadside rest stops, city/state parks, or near dense clusters of businesses.
Yeah NYC doesn’t need to offer subsidies because it already has what Amazon wants, lots of highly educated young people who want to work in tech. Most places don’t already have that (or at least not enough of it) and so…
I find my towels get stiff and dense when I let them air dry (as opposed to soft and fluffy when I machine dry.) Am I doing something wrong or is this something people just get used to?
