You're right; HN is spammable. But its unkind. You're making it worse for everyone. You've made your point re: HN's spam mitigation. I'd kindly ask you to please stop.
also re: the HN HMAC. You're confused about what it's for. It's not to prevent automated spamming. It's to prevent CSRF attacks where a user is forced to execute an unwanted action on an web application they're already log in as.
