My local Home Depot has 3 humans overseeing 6 self-checkout kiosks… I’m guessing they’re there to protect against shoplifting (which certainly leads to accusations of profiling) and assist when the machine inevitable…

Shouldn’t this partly be addressed with rising interest rates? Depress the economy so the consumer is more frugal and unwilling to pay these marked up prices
