it isnt perfect, but with BetterTouchTool you can toggle resizing -- e.g. three finger double tap on a trackpad, move your cursor around to resize, double tap again to exit the mode. I use Yabai, which is pretty good --…
I'd love to have an impact receipt printer for this so I don't have to source thermal paper etc. They aren't difficult to find, but they're too expensive for a stupid project like this, which is a glorified fax machine.
I've wanted something like this since the days of TinyPrinter, but I just can't justify thermal printing. I'd love to have either impact or laser, however. I mostly want it for lists and recipes, but some other goodies…
I tested mine and it came out to around 65hrs w/ rockbox playing FLACs. I've also got a Sansa Clip+ that is super small and great with Rockbox.
I modded an 80gb iPod Video / 5G with the same iFlash quad (400gb+ right now with two slots free) I felt like I never had to charge the thing, so I just let it run. It went for just over 60hrs and still had 5% to go.
its only a txt record, not hosting a node (etc)
I mod a few subs (largest is just over half a million.) While they're relatively easy to mod, I really enjoyed not having to check a queue, not having to deal with a lot of whiners in modmail, and definitely not having…
the Criterion release of The Passion of Joan of Arc has two great scores, too. Richard Einhorn's Voices of Light for the first and Adrian Utley (Portishead) and Will Gregory (Goldfrapp) for the second.
this is neat. It would be better with a monospace typeface so it doesn't jump around so much, though.
Tarantino's novelization was fantastic. He just released a piece of nonfiction with 'Cinema Speculation', which is definitely worth a read if you're into film and especially his films.
I'm with you. NFC is awesome. I use NFC around the house for basic automation (Hue etc) -- and it definitely should be more common. I was in a restaurant the other night that had QR codes printed on NFC tags, mounted on…
It looks pretty great, actually -- https://i.imgur.com/fxZz6f7.jpg (Base), https://i.imgur.com/2JAHnbe.jpg (Vivid Natural)

It looks like a Toshiba T5200/100 with a trackball. [1] http://laptop.pics/toshiba-t5200100/
I've used Gallium on an old Toshiba chromebook for years. I don't use the system full time, but there are no driver issues or anything with Gallium. Its pretty impressive and gave new life to an otherwise crappy laptop.
This was also my experience. I was jumping between F1 and Star Wars and had a great time maintaining and branching out. I was really impressed by the level of detail as more shades were introduced.
if you like a less polished sound, you should tuck into the Nirvana demos [1]. Back in the day it was really difficult to acquire these things (mainly trading or buying CDRs later on). Nirvana is an excellent rabbit…
Its tough to listen to a different mix when we've been enjoying the original for over 25 years. This video [1] compares them, but I'm with you with it sounding off. In Heart Shaped Box, the effect around 2m53s[2] is too…

Adafruit has some kits that are probably perfect for this, if you're cool with thermal It would also be fun to have a thermal printer camera like that one that was going around a few years ago. [1]…
A lot of people in the low-end VPS community use this [1] -- and I've used it ever since. The installation script just works. Adding a new user? Run the script. I don't think we're alone in the struggle.…
I use the following (in no particular order) -- definitely nothing fancy. * weechat * ffmpeg * youtube-dl * zsh * watchman (https://facebook.github.io/watchman) * megadl (rarely, but its a handy tool when you need it) *…
For anybody interested in making pizza at home, /r/pizza is a fantastic resource. Making your own pizza is fun and you can make some decent pies with only a little bit of practice. For home ovens use bread flour. If you…
Years ago my (now ex) wife and my friends would tell venial sins on road trips. It started out as a bit of a joke, but as we got going the level of intimacy grew quickly.
