I don’t understand the sarcasm. Those resources cost Oracle money, and they give them for free to researchers. A mention in return is very reasonable.
You are comparing European culture to Anglo culture. That’s pears to oranges. Not saying one is better than the other, but they work differently.

When I saw Doom 2016 running on OpenGL I was shocked. I would’ve never thought you could write an AAA game with it. It made me wonder why game developers use DX instead.
