My problem with indentation as significant is when I paste a chunk of code inside some chunk that is indented differently. Some may say that a good text editor will deal with that for you, but it's rarely been the case…
IMO it would be great if fields could have annotations for types that fall back as strings. Datetimes could be annotated for easier parsing.
I don't have any context, but I do have trouble imagining that any of your projects have scale/complexity above brochure-ware if you haven't run into this.
