Of course it's a tradeoff, but there's only one choice guaranteed not to piss off your users. It's an easy decision. Don't look at private data.
But I do this from my own Pinboard account, which has superpowers. Specifically, it lets me see private bookmarks on all accounts. And since I already see everything, I don't notice when everybody else starts to see…
Easy solution: Use an external monitor to verify things still look good at 1x.
Their terms are pretty straightforward. You're not allowed to use their logo in links, since that implies a false association. There's nothing new or broken here. You can link with text as much as you want.
The article misses the obvious comparison to the Mac line. Over time people will naturally refer to them by the year they were released.
We do exist. I love having an empty inbox.

The analytics platform discussed in the article is http://keen.io They've since been working hard to nail their product down with more specificity. :)
