That's nonsense. This never happened. If you are going to make an extraordinary claim like that, take a moment to find a source.
I think the author of this article is the same researcher mentioned in that chapter. And the drug dealer story in Freakonomics. Either that, or all Indian names sound the same to me.
Your specific implementation of an IDE might be dead. But the concept of an IDE and the use of IDEs lives on.
