Its The Guardian, what do you expect? Malthusian thinking abound...
The Ada standard library is massive and is included in the exception. There are "internal" "GNAT specific" packages which you can include in your project but there are not really any you need or would use in a general…
Why not learn it now? : ) https://learn.adacore.com/
No mention of Ada in 1996? How rude!
Think of the time savings though of not having to apt-get/configure/make/google-search/repeat for 971 binaries! :P
Doubt that, looking at my list of applications - I have 124. So, 100mb * 124 = 12.4 gb and I have half a terabyte of storage... Windows 10 requires 16 gb of storage. Heck most phones have 64 gb these days. We need to…
Oh my, each app is going to be 20 mb bigger! This mattered 30 years ago, but now I would say we have a huge problem for end users with all of these "Package managers" and "dependency managers" getting tangled up because…
Wow, I checked but apparently the Pi 3 DOES meet the Windows 10 system requirements just barely. I wonder how fast the UI and Cortana run... Win 10 Specs: Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster processor or SoC. RAM: 1…
Electron
Alas there are no video-chat programs out there that actually work well : /
No reason to get excited folks - its YAEC (yet another electron component). Me: Wouldn't it be great if we had a light-weight native chat app that was compatible with all of the many slow-resource intensive chat…
Well, you'll end up with toxic drinking water with this attitude. I don't know what the right solution is, but saying you don't know enough at this point to throw out your teflon pans and avoid certain products and that…
Yes many of them are made with this junk, a lot of hygiene products have it too like "Oral-B" floss and even things like microwave popcorn bags... The more people realize the FDA does not care about us and learn to take…
Don't look now, but PFAs have been "replaced" with a chemical called "GenX." These companies will just shapeshift their toxic sludge every time a major suit is won. Sickening... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GenX
There are ways for us "end-users" to get a hold of LTSC. First download the demo from microsoft then go to ebay to buy a key from some shady guy for 14$. Seems to work for me :P
Are we talking about the same windows 10 that blows-up every November to add nonsuch features?
Very creative project! Did you experience any issues doing pseudo-low-level programming with Javascript's lack of typing system or definite integer/float data-types?
Guess what? Electron is everywhere and everything. Electron is taking over - its raining hamburgers.... RUN Seriously though, I guarantee it would nuke old hardware into orbit. Its unfortunately not feasible IMHO due to…
Propaganda https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koqNm_TgOZk
It's all semantics - I don't understand why people want to defend a multi-billion dollar corporation, but, lets say, that NYC didn't write off 5 billion to Amazon. Could the city have budgeted more for the failing…
Who cares where it comes from. Tax payers are out 5 billion does it matter how?
Imagine if the project was given the 5 billion tax dollars handed to Jeff Bezos instead of a measly 4.5 million... This is why the environments a disaster - not because you decide to buy an SUV
Another electron toy saves the day complete with flat buttons and hamburgers - I wonder how reliable and fast it is? Is it that hard to make something in QT that doesn't eat up a gig of RAM?
These are solved problems though and unicode identifiers are rare in practice... See Normalization Form KC and Clause 21 of ISO/IEC 10646:2017. "Normalization forms are the mechanisms allowing the selection of a unique…
Sure the current doctrine of programming says its good, but lets take a step back. First of all its counter intuitive to writing English and it damages readability so you may have naming conflicts without realizing it…
