I hope this isn't too off-topic, but the "weird" encoding is is just URL-safe base64 (see https://docs.python.org/2/library/base64.html#base64.urlsafe...).
If you're holding out for wireless connectivity you can buy the current model - it already has bluetooth.

Surely adult sites will put this to good use.
You have support for driving and public transit but not for bikes? Seems like you could get some rough estimates by using elevation variance as a multiplier for driving time.
Decent initial release, but I wish the search was more flexible. My common use case is "I will spend $X to go anywhere for under Y days any time in the future" and I haven't found a service that makes this easy. Kayak's…
