If Firefox is supposed to be Google's serf, why aren't they supporting NaCl and Dart?
Is it worth replacing a proprietary plugin (which the owner may stop supporting at any time) with an open standard (which has guaranteed continued development)? Yes, I believe it is.
If it was indeed sarcasm then it was too subtle for HN. I mean if you had posted that on 4chan then it would be blatant sarcasm, but people on HN take themselves a little to seriously so it's a lot harder to tell.
You must be fun to hang around with.
You're missing out, it's hilarious. Oh, and get adblock.
I want to like it too but I don't think DDG results will ever be as good as Google because of the no tracking thing. Google just has more context to figure out what I actually mean with my query, and the more I use it…
Yeah, the hypocrisy is astounding.
Why would you want to prevent the rest of the world from catching up to America?
Not to mention all the patent trolling and hardware restrictions.
I'm not sure I understand the need for 8k. If you want to watch your TV at an optimal viewing angle of 20%~40% then 4k is more than enough to achieve "retina display" at the required viewing distance.
The stuff that goes in Soylent and their quantities come from FDA recommendations.
Didn't know about Ensure Complete and it seems that you are right, it looks pretty complete. The problem though is the variance in the DV% of different nutrients. For instance, if I wanted to get 100% of sodium from…
No, but it sounds logical to me that it would be a lot more efficient to get, say, X tons of calcium from calcium carbonate than from milk, or protein from a high yielding source instead of one that needs to be tasty.
Older products like Ensure weren't good enough to go "all in" on liquid food because they don't have 100% of everything we know we need.
>>the idea of chugging multiple cups of gray, sludgy drink daily sounds like an enormous burden that would grow tiring really quickly. It sounds like something that would make you dread the passing of the day, as…
Probably a dumb question, but how can we know for sure that it's intrinsic randomness? Maybe we just haven't figured how it really works?
Life is more than just climbing the food chain and making money. Also open source projects are not "somebody else's", they belong to everyone. When you contribute to open source all of mankind is benefited.
Surely it's been said more often than "I should have stayed home and watched more sitcoms".
If it's not about personal brand or profit then why would the writers care that the platform is making money out of their content?
Is it so hard to believe that some people just want to share their thoughts with the world and don't care about profit or building their personal brand?
Android fans care about open source, not Google or Samsung. There's a big difference between that and Apple fanboyism.
The adults are saying "no", the children just have to go along with that choice that was made for them. This is arguably a form of coercion because the children are being denied the opportunity to a better life.
What about their grandchildren? They could get a good education, integrate into modern society and have the opportunity to live a way happier life than if they had stayed in the island.
Gomoku has already been solved actually, maybe you were thinking of Go? There's a revised version called Connect6 though, in case you are interested. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Connect6
Totally man, we should go back to traveling by horse while we are at it.
