Nonsense. I probably make more than my line managers line manager as a developer. If you love being a developer/programmer stick with it. You will love what you do and will eventually earn more.
In case you really don't want to become a contractor and want to stay perm I recommend changing job every 2 years or so. Staying in the same job and getting small pay increases (or even a promotion) will always be less…
Become a contractor. When I was a perm I made awful money. Now as a contractor I make £10,000 - £14000 a month (assuming I work a full month :-)).

Agreed, I often tell more junior developers the only point to the CV is to get you the interview.
"Multiple pages" point, definitely agree. Ive been a software dev for over 20 years and my CV is two pages of A4 and I dont expect most people to even read page 2 (hint: most wont).
This is because they want to easily remove some personal details you may have put on the CV, like your email, mobile number etc. before they send it over to the company and they usually dont have a app that can edit…
