I have narcolepsy and I think sleep disorders as a whole are just generally under-diagnosed. It took me years to finally find a root cause to why I just felt bad all the time.
My guess is that the point they are trying to make is “introduce complexity when it appears”. The data access patterns that users need aren’t always obvious, at least in my experience.
