Working on open source Typescript app storysquad.education for 3rd-6th Grade kids to team up and compete in weekly fantasy-sports-style matchups on their original handwritten stories/comics/hand-drawn illustrations. We plan to use graphical handwriting recognition and NLP to sort kids' stories by linguistic sophistication.
“Grit” as its own solution strategy / problem classification in the context you describe seems masochism-adjacent. Current paradigm for students: joy of discovery < joy of submission.
