So, I made the mistake of outing myself on hacker news, gay and not a leftist. I'm getting harassed, naturally, and I know that the moderators of this site will not tolerate anyone who isn't strictly PC. Given past experience, dang et. al. will engage in harassment themselves.
So I'm deleting my password since I can't delete my account.
I've responded to every reasonable response to my comments. That will have to suffice.
A shame this site has become so anti-intellectual.
No matter how strong your faith is, you cannot change reality. The statement is true. Also, you yourself made many false statements in this thread, a constant string of ad hominem, dishonesty and blatant lying. Good for…
"Try not to present unsubstantiated quotes as fact." The irony of that statement is lost on you. Reality is you guys can call trump a racist, and attack me for being gay and all that, "no bad tactics"-- and anything you…
No, they are not. Read the pre-amble to the bill of rights. It makes it clear the rights are broad and pre-existing for the Bill of Rights and the Bill of Rights merely clarifies. This is why the right to self defense…
Right, which is why given there is no enumerated power clause giving them one the federal government has no power to regulate marriage. The problem is, the states legalized gay marriage at the state level, and DOMA…
You didn't bother to read my comment, and so, for instance, you lied about who I am supporting. And apparently I triggered you to the point that you didn't even respond on the point. Scalia doesn't take the posit you…
IF by "in theory" you mean "under the constitution" and by "but" you mean "but in practice" then I agree with you completely. That is my point. In this area and many other areas of human rights, the government is…
First off, thanks for a civil and reasonable response. Yours is the FIRST one I've seen reading the responses ranked by vote. This means Hacker News members upvoted insulting and snotty responses over yours. I didn't…
You really need to stop confusing the opinion of a propaganda site for reality. Shame on you for being so completely patronizing and such an asshole as to imply that I haven't spent any time thinking about this. This…
First off, you're linking to wikipedia. All even vaguely political pages on wikipedia have been put thru the hard left censorship test (just like everyone on this site who isn't hard left eventually gets banned) and so…
> This is such absurd mental gymnastics Gee thanks for giving me credit for daring to express an opinion in what is well known to be territory hostile to anything that isn't left of stalin. But your presumptions about…
Thanks for that, I hadn't reached back to 2011 for my research. First off, reading this the way you intend, that makes him still less homophobic than hillary. When Oreilley says "they say this violates their rights" he…
I love it! First we had climate "denial" now we have "racism denial"! And if this is The New Racism, you just called me racist. So let me get this straight you just called a Gay Black Man from the Southern USA who grew…
Nobody opposed Obama for being black. Not even racists in the south. They couldn't care about that because they were too upset with the policies he proposed. The only people talking about Obamas race where Obama…
Republicans were not opposed to Obama because of his race, though for the past 8 years that has been the excuse to avoid talking about the issues. And once again, Liberals are not talking about Trumps positions, but…
Oh, I'm persuaded- just look at the actions of W and Obama - both moved the presidency closer to dictatorship. As for elections not being legitimate, that clam was made repeatedly, with merit, after 2000. The democrats…
Trumps authoritarianism is much less threatening than the same rhetoric from Obama or Hillary. A lot of people are advocating authoritarianism- in fact thats the point of this whole thread- whether we should…
Also one of Hillary's campaign promises. And basically what Obama has been trying to do. Remember Hillary suggested that we should use a drone to take out Julian Assange. But we should be reminded about Trump taking…
Your comment is a lot of projection of why people might support Trump. I'm not a fan of Trump, and my vote would go to Gary Johnson, but I hope Trump wins. Here's why: 1. I'm gay. Hillary Clinton has campaigned against…
I can say that the media took a sharp turn around 2000-2001 era, especially after 9/11. The rise of 24x7 news outlets and the internet (which has killed journalism in newspapers financially) turned it into basically a…
Apple has made a big investment in both VR and electric vehicles. Tim Cook has spoken publicly- really rare- about the preference for AR, so he's already positioning the companies approach. This tells me that they have…
The fox, having investigated the crime at the hen house, has determined that no foxes did anything wrong and the allegations that hens were harmed is unsupported.
There's a real blind spot for SJWs to this kind of irony. They keep making these exact kinds of errors, over and over again, for instance advocating sexism or racism but thinking its ok because of the particular sex or…
He's saying that women tend not to vote libertarian, not that they shouldn't be allowed to vote. Why misrepresent this (as so many have in this page) when we can all follow the link and read for ourselves? More context:…
I am Gay. Hillary Clinton is on the record her entire career as opposing gay marriage. Trump, when questioned what he would do if he found out an employee was gay said "it makes no difference". As far as I'm concerned,…
I care a great deal about the quality of elections in the USA and have been watching this issue since the 1990s. In 2001 there were real problems exposed, not just hanging chads but real problems with the way software…
