Except that of course, as a server OS, Arch is not ideal. Ideal slim bloatfree distro for as a server would of course be Debian.
I have NetbootCD on a USB stick, works great for netinstalls of Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS/Scientific, Fedora, etc: http://netbootcd.tuxfamily.org/
What I got from the article is that they likely ssh brute-forced the Jenkins service user and then had passwordless sudo; however you wouldn't think that this user would have a shell assigned.
Looks like site is getting killed by all the load... not loading for me
