MSI Mosern are really good bang for the buck. I did some research about some budget laptops for a friend under 500$ and MSI won, not only by the specs but also from an extensibility standpoint (non-soldered RAM slots).

If you're on an M1 MacBook, you can run the iPad app on it, pretty responsive.
Have you actually tried to send files via bluetooth from Android -> MacOS or Android -> iOS? I can't make it work, the file just doesn't get through.
