Crybaby and crappy coder.
I can't disagree with everything he is saying enough. The emulation of mac os userspace will be the death of linux.
The foundation of the movement is getting rid of ops.
These have packaged the process and tools but no one can tell you how to do it for yourself. Because at up to an expert level it is still a set of tools you use. A lot of the advice/terminology: 'fast smoke tests',…
What a great POS. Good idea dude.
Why don't you just code in python and shut up?
This is sadly amusing. Are you making the world in your googly feely image? It's just despotism of another stripe in case you haven't figured it out yet.
Don't propose a general replacement based on individual incapacity.
This is common nonsense. Those people who have stake in new language push and disparage and those that have stake in the old contrast. It's the old 'not broken' argument but your emphasis are particularly egregious in…
It will. No program is perfect. Rust and Go advocates will have you think that they have conquered security via the memory mgmt and API front but there is still the off chance they haven't..or that the SA (what is left…
There are basically two rules to a well written C program (if I am now allowed to speak despite the public outcry). 1. Do not trust user input. This is a cardinal rule in whatever source. If the rule were followed…
The preferred model with fork() in a thread is to exec as quickly as possible. Otherwise pthread_atfork can be prepared given adequate design: http://pubs.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/009695399/functions/pth... If you have…
Better C++ than Go or Rust. Antecedents and track record counts. Young people like the new thing. Go and Rust are capitalizing on that. Learn C. Take the time..it takes a couple years and some pain to learn it and then…
What a clumsy, terrible, crappy workaround. Congrats.
* Coercion: large down vote/propaganda community against any negative rust idea..evidenced here. * IP Holders, well this is speculative. I can't understand anyone who would compare Rust against C in a positive way…
*...it's a total mess...theoretically it's possible....speculation on standard behavior based on platform behavior...namespace(x)<-threads->chosen implementation detail...functional language reference... -- Translation:…
No. You can call fork pretty cleanly in a pthread based program. This post is not informed criticism. There is some prep for ugly contingencies(pthread_atfork) but it usually just works. Namespace based code while doing…
I read this crap in language design and despair. This is why C is my only recourse for systems programming in *nix environments.
How incredibly naive.
It's not that nobody is interested anymore. It is that the onus is on regular citizens to protect themselves. Once you have an understanding of the magnitude of the privacy problem and see what you would have to do to…
War. These are the men who are missing out on the great civilized purge of useless, direction-less, education-less, baby dads. Not practicable anymore. There is no great enemy, the military services don't want these…
This looks like a clusterf*ck.
External monitoring from AWS or a colo. Simple icmp checks and tcp connects + possible up to app layer checks allowed from these failsafes. Obfuscate as needed.
Don't know that they have more but most colos I've used are using akamai.
By the time you outgrow TCL you are a really good programmer. You choose and advocate appropriately.
