We often get false positives as well. I've wished there were some way to signal a false positive to the device after Siri is activated, like "Siri, I didn't ask for you," to help it learn/train it. Not sure how feasible…
I think the Master Print technique is an novel approach to biometric cracking — closer to the statistical techniques used to defeat passwords, right?
Wouldn't a faraday cage be effective here? I suppose it doesn't confirm that you are being surveilled, but it would block radio signals.
I enjoy Medium, but I think of it nothing more (or less) than Twitter with more than 140 characters. That said, there has been some interesting journalism being done there. And it's interesting seeing the White House…
I feel a similar question would be "I wonder why anyone chooses to write on Twitter over their own microblog." Medium's inherent social component makes it much easier to find an audience if you don't have one already.
Simplicity of use, and distribution. In certain ways, Medium's social component makes it much easier for other people to find and read it vs. a personal blog (unless you already have a following.)
I find the "Discover Weekly" playlists to be very good at this.
