I actually moved my WEB Site to Gemini with a mirror on Gopher. My site is still active with links to the my G* Sites. I find maintaining both Gemini and Gopher is much easier than the WEB.
Joking right :)

You were down voted, odd. But this I fully agree with, the latest thing for me is Wayland being forced upon us.
Probably true, but the direction Linux is going these days is concerning
This to me is a big issue. You have politicians, government entities and other public institutions posting to twitter, but to access we need to log in. There needs to be a free, non-ad, non-login environment people can…
Yes, I really like pkgsrc. It is too bad Linux distros did not embrace pkgsrc, instead we have more package managers then one can imagine. Having one common pkg manager would have made new user adoption easier. But…
Well I did not read the article, but here is what I think. In the old days on an old 16 bit UNIX, I had to execute unlink to delete a file. So I would say the inode # will be removed from the directory entry, leaving…
Par for the course when running a proprietary application. If doing that on Linux, can you imagine what it and others do under Windows ? As people running Linux should know, you cannot trust proprietary applications.

All Canada has to do is ban export potash to the US, that will end this crap almost instantly.
Personally I believe you cannot trust the US Gov. since Citizens United. This seems not only to allow the rich to purchase politicians, but under Trump it allows the current administration to extort companies. So,…
I do not like using VMs and containers, I do like FreeBSD jails. But I saw somewhere someone is working on a jail like item for NetBSD.
It is a backup machine for important files. Plus testing items I develop to see how they run in limited environments.
I need to get around and upgrade an old mini-tower with an AMD-586 w/512MB memory from 9.3 to 11.0, I may wait for 11.1.
Interesting, I wonder if those external 3.5" diskette drives will work with this ?
Very True, and one thing people forget, we need to keep the ability to read these old devices. I was a operator (now admin) on a few minis in the early 80s that had these drives. The drive pack on the ones we had were…
Hopefully he gets a big enough payment that makes other jurisdictions remove these cameras.
