I used to be a structural engineer, but now I manage engineers who design power line structures. It's the traditional kind of engineering, not software engineering. I have been interested in computer programming since I was around 13 or 14 years old (around age 50 now) when I taught myself BASIC on a Commodore VIC-20 and later a Commodore 64. I now dabble in Python and the apparently rarely used by fantastic Ada. I don't know why traditional engineers do not use Ada more. It's wonderfully designed.
