Wow that's amazing - I always assumed that only the text went to a simple PS renderer. One of my colleages once wrote the universities crest in PS, by hand - and it's a complicated one with lots of lions and crowns.
You generally, at least in the USA and UK CAN use a person photo for commercial use without their consent - otherwise crowd shots of a game would be impossible, The only limitation is that you cannot imply they endorse…
