What problems did you have with SQS?
I usually say “check environment”, which is usually the reason — cron jobs run in non-interactive mode, new version of system library, wrong PATH variable, new math co-processor and so on.
Do know what a critical path means.
Soda - no, but it doesn't stop at soda, it even doesn't start there. A lot of valid use cases for generating/analyzing this data.
It's all about measurable goals and improvements, not about importance.
Check out PCI DSS regulations for storing credit card numbers, they're pretty strict.
