I had en elementary school teacher that made a website dedicated to flags games appropriate for students. It was amazing, FULL of games from my childhood: https://web.archive.org/web/20050407011006/www.gamewing.com If…
> I just don't have any time for any of my hobbies any more Exactly this. I have 2 under six, and outside the odd night were my wife bathes both kids, from 6am to 9pm I’m either working or hanging out with my kids.…
To this day nobody does notifications as well as WebOS did. IMO the hard-headed refusal to make a touch keyboard even optionally available also contributed to their demise.
Late to this. Here’s a screen shot. https://imgur.com/a/gYLytqh
Good read. It’s kinda funny that, on a CSS focused site, the position of the “latest” article label on the homepage is set above that of the site logo and navigation bar. It’s nice to know even CSS experts make mistakes…
It’s a “luxury belief”[1] and it shows that some people either forgot or never really knew how the other half lives. 1: https://quillette.com/2019/11/16/thorstein-veblens-theory-of...
Think Google Inbox (RIP :tombstone:) meets Basecamp (:campfire:). A little like Superhuman in that it's a an email client that uses Gmail as its backend and it has a plethora of keyboard shortcuts. Pretty blown away by…
Even if you factor in investment returns you're not getting the full picture IMO unless you take into account price increases over time as well. A common refrain is that Carnegie Hall only cost $1M ($29,581,868.13 when…
Echoing others here, I honestly prefer this than dealing with outdated defaults built into the OS. More often than not they just get in the way. The real bummer is for newcomers. It's going to make getting started much…
$1K - Hard pass. I'll take two crappy IPS 24 inch monitors before I drop that kinda cash on a monitor. Thing is I've seen co-workers with these, and buy call accounts they love them, but I've never really been blown…
Paywall :(
It's wild that this is still around. Just re-installed it to manage my Discord, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Telegram all in the same place =-)
Granted, but how long until its used as precedent to put you on a list?
I've built in house versions of this for a handful of roles. Frustratingly common problem. Great that there's a free model, but would love to see a `hobbyist` tier as well. 50 QPS won't cut for a lot of folks. edit:…
I cannot for the life of me get that link to open. Here’s a web archive version for those with the same issue: https://web.archive.org/web/20201029194008/https://karl-voit... edit: fwiw the author has web archive links…
Pretty, but performance is abysmal. Also looks like it changes the browser history on every interaction, ie any drag and drop, which seems, to me, to indicate some behind the scenes UUID tracking.
I've been using DDG as my main driver for over 2 years now. Contrary to the vast majority of commenters here, I almost never use !g. 90% of of the time, if my first search didn't produce a useful result on DDG, I end up…
I’m shocked, shocked, to see favoritism going on in this establishment /s
Came here to say this ^ , would be good to either remove the links or add a note in the docs.
Experian fiasco (and others that came* long before) taught us the shortcomings of these types of regulations. Do you really feel like banking and medical records are being kept secure? If so I envy your confidence.…
The conclusion that nation wide legislation would fix this is, at best, wishful thinking. ATMs are secure because banks would lose money if they weren’t. Not because of regulation. Regulation leads to a bare minimum of…
I don't understand what editor allowed the A.M. section to remain in the article. Felt like an afterthought. They built up the 'Voldemort' file but then barely referred back to it. Would have preferred they wait to…
I use this thing as my daily driver. It's not* just advertising. It's a darned good keyboard. edit: apparently there's an affiliate link. Didn't see it on first read. Still a good keyboard imo though...
Oh great, now anytime the window seat needs the restroom we get a little hug on his / her way.
Nice work! I would suggest adding a controls screen that fades out. Took me a while to realize I had to combine aiming with the mouse and WASD keys for movement to get everything going.
