Ever since youtube-dl was removed from Github, it seems like they gave up on the project.
It's always good to do research about VPNs before using/buying them, especially if you're not in the US.
Honestly, I think self-hosted is the way to go. Most cloud hosting services are scams, and with self-hosted you have full control over the system.
