Perhaps you can find a position within the intersection of development and security? I don't think this is in any way mutually exclusive.

I agree. Recently I switched to Windows 10 Pro from Linux (mostly Arch and Ubuntu) and I don't regret it thus far. WSL, Docker Desktop and VS Code with WSL integration. It works well enough.
