There are some subtle ones. It depends on what you need. :) If you simply want to sync some directories, there isn't really much difference and you can pick one or the other.
Perhaps you can find a position within the intersection of development and security? I don't think this is in any way mutually exclusive.
OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox etc. ...they all can sync selectively and can be used on Android, Windows, Linux and macOS.

I agree. Recently I switched to Windows 10 Pro from Linux (mostly Arch and Ubuntu) and I don't regret it thus far. WSL, Docker Desktop and VS Code with WSL integration. It works well enough.
