Indeed... “There was a moment of novelty but then a realization that these were the same things. Just much cheaper and unregulated.” Imo this has been obvious all along.
I have every sympathy with the writer here, but they seem to have missed the obvious way to opt out, which is to just not use the website/app that is upsetting them.
https://wakingup.com/ and https://www.headspace.com/ are both woo-free choices I'd recommend.
