Exactly this. People are not going to suddenly change their behavior if they don't even see that there are issues right in front of them. Keeping quiet, pretending as though nothing is wrong, hinders progress immensely.
Progress isn't made from choosing to be ignorant about issues that are laid right in front of you. Get communities talking about issues, otherwise all you'll be left with is a bunch of folks who think everything is fine…
