The most important thing, in my opinion, is peaceful parenting. That is, no hitting and no shouting - teach your kids to reason, even if they're being unreasonable.
Why?
Race to the bottom (i.e. competition) is a good thing, it reduces waste and inefficiency.
How is it illegal?
I'd argue this is a positive trend. Hopefully it leads to more innovation in governance.
