GuideToGo is an AI-powered audio guide app that brings the world to your fingertips. With a database of over 1.2 million locations worldwide, it provides detailed information and answers your questions in real-time. For those curious about the tech stack, the client was built using React Native with Expo, and Elixir powers the backend.

## Why?

For the last 10+ years, my family generally travels for a month every year. Being a curious family, we love learning about the places we visit, so we often use tour guides. However, almost every time we encountered several issues:

- Unanswered questions due to rushed schedules - Inability to explore at our own pace - High costs (tour guides often charge $15 per person on average, which adds up quickly for a family of four)

Determined to find a better solution before our trip to the UK and Mediterranean early this year, I couldn't find any existing apps that met our needs. This inspired me to develop GuideToGo to address these common travel pain points.

## About Me

I've worked in the software industry for the last 20 years, starting as an intern web developer in college and rising to roles like Staff Engineer, Manager, and eventually senior engineering leadership at top companies like ServiceNow and ServiceTitan (VP, Engineering). Along the way, I also founded and successfully exited two startups.
