Very random to see a post about my local station appear on the front page of HN. If anyone wants a free iPhone app to check train times from Kent House (other stations are available, but may not be featured on HN),…
With my SRE hat on, dare I ask... could/should this have been picked up in testing? And then normally there's a nice discussion about how production is very different to the test environment.
Can't live without Hammerspoon on Mac. Can't live without AutoHotkey on Windows. Thanks to everyone who contributed to both!
Unfortunately, I believe it's limited to TfL stations only (e.g. Overground) rather than National Rail. Oh, and I should have mentioned that I'm also aware of this, but it's not free so automatically outside of my app…
Very nice! I've also used the Rail Data Marketplace (terrible name) to build an app that uses the live departure board data (https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/traintrack-uk/id6504205950), and it's great the data is freely…
As a UK citizen, I'm hoping this is actually a backdoor effort by the US to hack into people's data rather then something our fine folks were pushing for. Or at the very least, it's a starting point for negotiations…
I have the earlier, smaller model of this, and it works well. I've backed the new, bigger display, which should be shipping soon.
As someone who has worked in London for many years, the difference is amazing. Biking in the city is now enjoyable, and the air quality is (subjectively, even without the data) dramatically better. There was an…
This is incredibly cool! :) Hope you don't mind a very small feature request / suggestion... when viewing search results, it would be great if you could include a link to the parent collection for results (e.g. I see an…
Anyone know if a lifts API exists for the tube and DLR? Can’t find anything obvious on the TfL site.
You can get RSS apps that will download the full articles for offline reading, including images. I use Newsify with my Feedly account on the iPhone, and it’s perfect. Android clients are also available (sorry, can’t…
I tried Fish a while back, and liked it very much. Trouble is, I can't roll Fish out across a work server estate. Well, I could. But then I probably wouldn't be at work much longer. ;-)
I love this tool. It's probably the closest thing (sorta) to AutoHotkey that exists for OSX.
Looks nice but as a current Sublime user, I'd like to know about plugin support. It may be because I'm only able to see the mobile site, but whilst I can see a mention of "themability", I can't see any mention of…
Very cool. Just been testing the SMS and text-to-speech API (via their node.js helper libraries) and it's working well.
