Most of the parents here will abuse their kids on a weekly basis with coding crap until they “like” it. Kids like to run, jump, play, be with other kids, not code.
FB seems to be the favorite punching bag for HN, probably because it’s full of people who have tried to set up 600 different startups and raised exactly $0 where as Zuckerberg made more money than all the people here…
Let kids be kids and let them do kid’s things. Even if your passion is coding, you must not impose it.
My two cents about the summary: 1) Lack of IT courses in K-12 affects both genders, why make this a female issue? 2) Completely subjective. 3) Pretty much the opposite. There are tons of events for women only, as well…
