I think that’s why we don’t hear much about the protests in Kashmir, Ecuador, or Iraq.
I thought it was going to happen during the 2014 Hong Kong protests too, and was surprised when China didn’t do anything.
Hong Kong does not pay taxes to mainland China, and it’s GDP isn’t included in China’s GDP calculation. What I find interesting is that Macau is in the same position as Hong Kong, former colony, 1 country 2 systems, but…
