I've been in this situation, and it's something that seems to get tweaked every week. They definitely pushed the "aggressive" lever up a little over the last month. I think it's one of those cases where it's sort of…
I saw a Waymo come to a screeching halt in a split second as a... less than intelligent individual... skateboarded in front of a bus, into the extremely busy road. If it was a human that person would have been dead, no…
I would never let my family ride in a Cruise (and have never). Waymo's are far, far better. I ride one every day, and trust them more than I trust 99% of Uber/Lyft drivers.
Ah, when not logged in, it defaults to light mode. When I logged in with my Google account, it detected the system setting.
Is there a dark mode? The example (https://kagi.com/search?q=steve+jobs) doesn't seem to respect my system theme on macOS.
Absolutely love Hetzner -- we use a tonne of the RX220's. Good to see tools and scripts around their offerings. Hoping for that US DC at some point.
This is cool but everything is too verbose. `austral compile hello.aum --entrypoint=Hello:main --output=hello` vs `go build` Etc etc.
Did this once. Took 5 years (old system was still available, we swapped out various parts over time, etc, etc). Rewrite/relaunch did increase revenue a lot, but not enough to justify the 5 year investment of R&D. Pain.
The most annoying thing about this is that they broke unfurls in Slack, Discord, etc, etc.
... so?
Tech is never the hard part in payments.
I mean... yeah. Also she's literally the Rep for SF, home of tech. That they're invested in tech stock is the least shocking thing imaginable.
Yup, it's absolutely horrible to use as a developer.
I work in Web3 and I would say cryptocurrency as a "currency" / speculative asset etc is a failure. However, the underlying technology is legitimately interesting and solves a lot of hard problems (e.g. distributed…
At least this China-based RCT isn't underwritten by GILD? That's something.
The most unsurprising development in the history of things that have happened: https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2019/03/surprise-trump-kept-... Ah, good old kleptocracy. Who could have predicted this?
Kleptocracy kills. The current "admin" is full of Boeing people. Also, there's no one doing anything at the FAA.
OSS developers should just work for free, and live in destitution. Obviously. ;)
Serious question: what does it actually do in non-corp speak, though?
No.
We're looking at moving to Epyc but waiting for Epyc2. Currently on 2 socket Gold 6126's across the board.
You grew up in Darwin? Awesome. You felt nothing in Perth because Perth is just... there. :)
One way to describe the difference between SF/NYC and all these other places is that the former have people from all over the place, and that makes them interesting and sort of mind expanding in a way that's hard to…
Fins has a point though. I live in SF but was down in SJ recently and honestly... it's just nice suburbia with the same strip malls and everything that's copy-pasted across the US? Am I missing something there that…
Yeah. Would love to see if a Toshiba PX04/PX05 with SED/SED FIPS is vulnerable. That's a very expensive add-on.
