I just fired up a machine with Nvidia drivers running on XP and Nvidia drivers on Linux. Weirdly the Linux system runs much better. I wonder if that's a Linux thing or an Nvidia thing. My laptop likewise runs games…
That old ye problem of how to deal with package managers dealing with package managers.
I really don't get why page flipping at speed (and/or fancy transitions) is a necessity. My Kindle blows away any back lit device for reading (IMHO.)
The same behaviour with app switching sadly has been copied through to Gnome 3.

Yeah, it's difficult enough when you are neighbours! (Sad but true.) That's not to say that we can't try harder.
That's not to say there isn't value in that. I've been really happy to connect with old acquaintances over just a message or two. I don't really want much more contact than that.
I get what you are saying. The one good thing about Facebook is that it took a lot of that fluff out of my inbox. But could I not have learnt to manage/gloss over it? The thing that Facebook does well - is tracking down…
