Ericsson used a lot of power chips in their telecom hardware 10 years ago at least, haven't worked with their stuff since then so I haven't kept up.
I wonder how much much renewables you would get for the same 100 billion investment though. How much battery storage does even 50 billion get you.
The problem with going for open source models is that you are betting on some third party to keep doing expensive model training and releasing it for free, forever. What do you do if deepseek never release another…
Inference cannot happen without training the model first, so the distinction is quite pointless.
I'd rather turn into reddit than turn into a nazi.
His first sentence is literally disclaiming that he is in an outlier market.
Sam Altman is just another Elon Musk. Saying whatever he thinks sounds good in the moment.
The problem is that Nvidia cannot make infinite amounts of chips so they actually can't pick up both.
The assertion that an uncensored internet is a better world should probably require some motivation. If everyone was a normal (as far as anyone is normal) law abiding citizen perhaps I would agree, but sadly that is far…
But most of their funding comes from speculative investment, not selling their services. Also, wouldn't selling their own products/services generate revenue?
> And they keep forgetting the purpose of software is to serve users, not developers. Developers are the users of these software stacks though? I don't really understand your point.
One thing I like to think about is: If these models were so powerful why would they ever sell access? They could just build endless products to sell, likely outcompeting anyone else who needs to employ humans. And if…
Stop just making up excuses for these companies. Other comments on this story have showed the bots are using openai user agents and making requests from openai owned ip ranges.
Azure keeps randomly breaking our resources without any service health notifications or heads up, it's very fun living in microsofts world.

Are you entitled to the LFS developers time? They build the system they get to make into what they want.
The built-in OS on my LG is honestly good enough for me. There's a jellyfin client in the LG app store that works well enough (it's just a wrapper for a browser client as I understand it). But I only use my TV to watch…
My customer's site got a 100% while running on azure.
As long as people claim it's revolutionary it's fair to compare it to other revolutions.

And that's fine! No one cares! Keep using it!
Domain knowledge is a real thing. Sure I could be replaced at my job but they'd have a pretty sketchy time until someone new can get up to speed.
I'm sorry but this is just completely disconnected from reality. Wayland is being successfully used every single day. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it's inherently bad.
