If you can build in one thing, I'd pick something equivalent to Omnisearch. That makes it much easier to find things. I always struggle with the default search.
They originally started with Gecko and switched to Chromium. "There were a ton of issues using Gecko, starting with (at the time) no CDM (HTML5 DRM module) so no HD video content from the major studios, Netflix, Amazon,…
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tab-stash/ Searchable. Works with sync. Stores the tabs as bookmarks. EDIT: and recommended so it gets vetted by Mozilla.
I would disagree edge is fine. It is untrustworthy as it will keep turning on features. Example - sync. If you aren't using sync, it will eventually turn it on. If you aren't syncing history it will turn that on at some…
The most important part of profiles is being able to right-click on a link and open it in a different profile. I don't see that mentioned. I typically have multiple profiles open at once. Edge has the best…
Mozilla will lose 86 percent of its funding if the Google deal goes away. Unless they can somehow generate an equal amount there will be massive layoffs and Firefox will be in a death knell. So far they have not managed…

Allowing choice is good. All that is going to happen though is chrome will take over on iOS.
I use the IOS "Due" app for this. I have it set-up to pull out items from Reminders that have days and times assigned. Makes it really hard to forget those tasks.
You can achieve a similar effect in Obsidian by using the plugins Outliner and Zoom. I still feel Logseq is still a better outliner (although I don't use it), Obsidian is better at handling the other use cases.
LOL - beat me to it. I was reminded of this episode. From this episode it felt as though she was prevented from letting go and moving on by the AI.
Brave’s usage curve is still going up and the MAU is approaching 70 million. Firefox has another 115 million monthly active users. By Chrome’s numbers either is barely used.…
Until I believe that Mozilla management are committed to making a great browser other than something they use to make money for other things I am out. Firefox issues I have - profiles have no indicator on the taskbar so…
Tried Vivaldi multiple times. Does not stick. Some of the issues I saw are If you use multiple profiles at the same time there is no way to distinguish them on the task bar. I also couldn’t find a tab handling method I…
I had to look this up as I didn’t grow up in the States. It was A&W. https://www.snopes.com/news/2022/06/17/third-pound-burger-fr... Crazy.
Firefox has lost over 20 million users in 2 years. Jan 3 2021 210,085,100 Jan 1 2023 193,199,300 Dec 17 2023 185,599,100
Thunderbird rejoined Mozilla - from Wikipedia “ On January 28, 2020, the Mozilla Foundation announced that the project would henceforth be operating from a new wholly owned subsidiary, MZLA Technologies Corporation, in…
There is definitely a downward usage trend from Mozilla own stats. https://data.firefox.com/dashboard/user-activity
Thanks! Looks interesting.
Edge is following chromes lead. Vivaldi and Brave are going to maintain the code so at least uBlock Origin can work. Nobody knows how this will play out as the forks won’t want to stray faraway from the chromium code as…
Try installing the auto tab discard addon (It is a recommended addon so it gets checked by Firefox). I’ve noticed certain tabs may slow FF down if they aren’t unloaded in the background. I had FF slow to a crawl and…
The UI is closed source. https://vivaldi.com/blog/vivaldi-browser-open-source/
The problem with this feature is the user does not make the choice. Firefox should be alerting the user why they disabled the extensions and give them a choice to enable them.
Not that I know of. I’d guess probably came across it randomly and liked the word. Seems like it comes up in crosswords https://crosswordtracker.com/clue/hornswoggle/ Also funnily not related is a WWE stage wrestler…
