What does that even mean? They're a corporation of course they're about making profit.
I was just at a Microsoft store this morning and I did not find the above experience to be true at all. In fact when I stopped by the Apple store the staff was much more intrusive.

Definitely not. Most public schools have in state tuition of under $10,000 per year with lots of financial aid for those in need.
Why not just download the 90 day developer trial of the OS?
Actually, Chrome gives the user a choice of search engine on first startup and does not have a default browser ( at least in the United States)
If you're in California you'll pay tax on the whole $650 unfortunately.
Only if they use electronic methods such as jammers. As far as I can tell there is no law against making a building a large faraday cage isn't prohibited.
Is this even legal? My question is if they are just monitoring cell phone signals they must have some way of intercepting them. Is this not akin to wire tapping?
I am seeing the samething on Chrome 15 and Windows XP. I wonder if there is some issue with the font rendering engine on XP. Additionally, if you zoom in 3 or 4 times on the page the font suddenly clears up.

Installing the hacked version of Flash does not required root access. On my Honeycomb tablet its as easy as installing any non-market APK.
I take it you've never used the Google Voice application for Android/iPhone? On my android phone the text message issues you've mention disappear as there are no forwarding numbers and every message arrives on my phone.
When the new update comes out just install a hacked version of the Flash player again problem solved.

That depends on whether or not there are any bugs or quirks in Android x86 that may or may not be present in Android for ARM and vice versa.
It's not really an emulator if you're running the x86 port of Android virtualized on x86 hardware...
