I think you massively underestimate the number of startups with product engineers. It's becoming a much more popular approach with many high-performing startups, even up to the 250+ headcount tiers.
Having used both moment and Luxon in the past, the date-fns API makes no logical sense to me at all.
Depends how you measure senior engineer. Most sensible companies measure by impact - and Taro focuses on how to explain and justify that.

There was a bunch of analysis over on /r/wallstreetbets a while back based on satellite imagery of roads in China, using them to estimate coronavirus recovery levels for factories there.
Sounds like #1 needs breaking down into many many less tickets!
