The postmortem doesn’t say that. It just says they were caching “user information”. Maybe that includes a Stripe customer or subscription ID that they look up before sending an email, for example.
If you form an LLC outside the state you run the business, then you’ll also need to register it in your home state where you run the business. This just adds overhead, fees, etc… it’s probably best to form in your home…

This has been on for a few years, but is better worded now. I remember reporting “bitcoin” gains in 2012 when there was no guidance from the IRS so I was sure I was going to get audited. I did not.
