same bud. maybe that just means it's a maturing field and we gotta adapt? yes, the promise has changed, but you still gotta do it for the love of the game. anything else doesnt work.
or maybe it's learned helplessness? i have adhd and can't stand these type victim mindset promoting comments.
if you start having kids earlier, you will have more kids. if so, wont those be more represented in the population and just stablize to closer to where we are today than otherwise?
been at a few high-paying companies. amazon generally pays the lowest and benefits are generally meh
good. time for better leadership for devices. during my time as a swe, not sure what he actually ever did. crazy that these sort of people still accumulate generational wealth while failing the whole way up.
still use vim every day. worked with him ~decade ago. this hits hard. does anyone know if his family needs help/is there a way to help out? i would love to give back if possible.
same. m1 here, previously on track to m2, but I'm not bothered by this. With ae + stock appreciation I'm getting m2+ pay so can't really complain.
same era. same sentiment. the era of getting good value by providing good value seems foregone. now we focus on extracting maximal value in the short-term/for self and acting that it's naive and dewy eyed to expect…

Please note that tech worker here is someone in tech. Specifically, in this case, a recruiter. If meta was hoarding recruiters, then truly the stock deserved to go down.
