You can use Unicode escapes for < and > if you need them to be escaped. (Which is unfortunate, but defense in depth I guess.)
Look at this guys performance review information in the lawsuit and judge for yourself if you think he was only let go because of his comments. Damore has a much stronger case without this guy.
