This is assuming the AI doesn't refuse after the next update.
This drives me nuts. I love LISP but refuse to pretend writing `)))))))` is reasonable.
Is your implication that progress is always generally positive for the average person?
I tend to think it's going to turn out to be something along the lines of a perpetual motion machine. In the sense it seems very possible on paper but the subtle facts of reality prevent it. People will make things that…
It's fine if people don't care about the federated aspect but I don't think we can rely on a corporation to solve this problem. Even a small one. Federation solves a real technical problem whether end users care or not.
Claude Code is essentially the pinnacle of over engineering. Agentic harnesses are simply just not nearly as complicated as Anthropic seems dedicated to making them. I'm really happy with Pi agent harness and last time…
You should see a lot of slugs if you go into the forest. They are out there!
FWIW they invalidated my key in the middle of a session this morning.
I'm literally begging people to start using the Fediverse at this point.
I essentially only use DeepSeek. Almost always the flash variant. I've found that I don't really need frontier models if I'm doing most of the thinking myself and just using the agent to output code quickly.
I don't think this is a problem that's going to be solved by aligning everyone ethically.
You say this as if recursive self improvement is inevitable.
Til my local harness was set up via "self replication". I didn't realize how terrifying this was when I asked DeepSeek to set up pi harness for me and connect to LMStudio.
Are poor people worse parents?
People who have not used DeepSeek massively under estimate it's capability and how little it costs to run.
I think the entire thing here is that these solutions _are_ inherently interpolations of existing work in the field. That's the "super power" that LLMs have. To interpolate mass amounts of multi-dimensional data.
IIRC the universe is a pretty non-unifrom shape.
I promise you this doesn't work. Might help but not a lot.
I bet if you look back, you were using a lot less effort in the past than what you see the LLM doing now. They are pretty bad at taking a straight line to the solution.
I mean what can you do? The market is forcing you to raise rent. Your hands are tied.
I don't know if this is more obvious to you than you let on but in case it's not, your software at first glance seems potentially harmful to children and is very clearly biased towards a conservative viewpoint. It…
Can you elaborate on this idea? It seems like a pretty controversial statement.
Nothing actually moves according to Zeno's paradox.
Yeah this article seems sensational to the point of being deliberately misleading.
Anecdotally I know a lot of people who work full time in the US and make well under 30k a year.
