Are you sure about lambdas..? They are kind of crippled in comparison to almost any other language which has them.
Regarding the comments here "why not Redis via UDS/loopback?" etc. - there are some cases where such solution won't fit - e.g., running your service on Mesos cluster.

I use this one-liner: play -c 2 -n synth pinknoise band -n 2500 4000 reverb 20 Works like a charm - when I'm working, reading or just trying to get a quick nap in some noisy (sic!) environment.
I'm not sure if binaurals/isotones are of much use without at least some basic biofeedback equipment, but YMMV.
