CWD has essentially wiped out the elk populations of SW Colorado. There was an research center in that area dedicated to breeding CWD-resistant elk, but it shut down in 2016. More info:…
If those generalizations don't apply to your small community, fair enough. But what then makes it okay for you to state generalizations that don't apply to my urban area?
Very much agreed, lots of FUD for a technology that's only now being prototyped. Would the author rather technologists not get excited by interesting possible solutions to long-standing problems?
Not sure I would describe the permanent loss of a critical power plant as "good news," but the aversion of a large radiation leakage is certainly less bad.
