1. In principle, do you support uniform packaging with warnings for cigarettes? Do you support ban on selling flavored cigarettes/vapes to children?

  3. Also reckoned they’d deliver a fable class model by end of year
  4. Very cool! Does this assume you're never editing code by hand or can you use editors like VSCode or Cursor as well?
  5. > even if "long-term" was an important distinction, the term FDE itself became popular a very short time ago!!! [] so how can you assert FDEs work with customers for the long-term That's pretty straightforward; even if the role came to exist two months ago, you can still have signed a five-year service contract.
  6. Oh “of the top 100 tourist destinations on Euromonitor”. Okay, that’s believable I suppose.
  7. This job is really the stepping stone to product management - and it's the role that's going to really grow with LLMs. A mini-PM with Fable can solve tons of customer needs.
  8. This is a conspiracy theory.
  9. Interesting choice of name for a website which contains no actual engineering.
  10. Excited to read if you ever get to publish! In particular 1. made me even more curious. I do get most of my AI value on prototyping [small codebase] & summarizing.
  11. William Dalrymple's books are great reads. Makes reading history enjoyable. Highly recommend all his books, particularly his most recent 'The Golden Road'
  12. Could you please stop posting unsubstantive comments and flamebait? You've unfortunately been doing it repeatedly. It's not what this site is for, and destroys what it is for. It's a hallmark of a low-effort comment that it is not even terminated with a period, and this is the case with many of your comments. If you…
  13. I don't disagree with your views, but attacking Fabien and saying he's being disrespectful seems like a stretch to me. I think a better way to put it is that Fabien's blog is an inspiration to anyone looking to understand computers and programming in detail while taking a history tour of old games and systems. He…

  15. > Audi, Porsche Both are part of VW Group and have seen marketshare fall as well due to tariffs as well as China cutting down on foreign luxury brands in favor of domestic ones. Barely 5 years ago a black Audi A8 was the go-to VIP car in China.

  17. Xcode 27 beta 3 has been the most stable release I've ever used. The type checking improvements were understated so I gotta laugh at this xcode avoidance. Areas they could improve - what ever the heck is going on in their diffing ui for source control.
  18. [delayed]
  19. My flipper zero at least, does not have touch, and that was one of my requirements. By programmable I mean "I can modify/flash my own firmware", which is also true for the flipper as it's all open source... and I had to do that anyway to fix their 14443B reader code to work for my application.
  20. > What's your point with this line of argumentation? Are you disagreeing with my definition of "corporate war", or are you disagreeing that the Ukrainian war is not a corporate one by my definition? It’s a discussion board. I’m discussing the topic and trying to get to know what you think and believe, and thanks to…
  21. This is more challenging for macOS.
  22. to put it in simple terms, these are people who are so good at both usage/integration of the entire product and can help the company's clients to integrate the product seamlessly into their stack. We've seen this in rise, especially OpenAI engineers having office hours inside Nvidia's campus, etc.
  23. Been studying this as well for a while: https://igorkomolov.com/projects/screenshot-and-ai-resistant...
  24. While there is some truth there you can be promoted by switching jobs. And then the original company will need to find a way around replacement problem
  25. A consulting I used to work at started calling their engineers this. All of them. They just follow trends.
