I'm the founder (twitter @arrsingh) at distelli. Happy to answer any questions.
Can Distelli agent work on SmartOS?

Can Distelli integrate with Gitlab?

Last but probably most important, since Distelli controls both code and machines:

Will Distelli support 2FA anytime soon?

(I skimmed the docs but it appears Distelli docs don't have a search function.)

It does work with SmartOS GitLab support is on the roadmap. If you need it asap we can prioritize it high for you - email me rsingh@distelli.com and we can come up with a shared schedule.

Same with 2FA. Its on the roadmap and we can accelerate that as well. Search in docs is work in progress currently.

Great to hear it works with SmartOS. That would certainly make my deploys simple -- I can just bake the Distelli Agent into a base image and use that for all new instances.

I'm sure there's an easy way to have Gitlab trigger the Distelli builds. I see you're in Seattle too, rad! Email on the way.

This looks similar to AWS CodePipeline and Amazon's internal Pipelines tool for Apollo/Brazil. Any relation?

I think everone should have a CI/CD pipeline with pre-production environments. I wish there was more open source software for running this sort of thing in-house, though.

Yeah, seriously. All the terminology, the ui design, everything about this is a clone of Amazon's internal pipelines tool.

I don't think that's a legal issue, but seriously, how many former Amazonians work for this company? Because it can't possibly be zero.

This is awesome!
The article is nice but the service is too complex. When I saw those 10 (non-trivial) steps to set it up...
We have a simple signup and onboarding flow - connect your github or bitbucket repos and kick off a build. Once the build succeeds install the agent on your server and deploy.

The getting started guide needs to be updated.

Rahul, congrats on the release!
