It's owned by a guy called Jim Groome (jgroome.com), who, from the looks of it, has no association with Google.
not even close to fun.
That's uncompetitive, everyone should just get the browser they like either it is IE9, Chrome, Firefox, Opera or Safari - they just need to get rid of IE8/7 and PLEASE ie6.
People using IE6 are XP users considering the default browser on Vista and Windows 7 is either IE7 or IE8, and XP doesn't support IE9.
Pretty sophomoric, insignificant, and unworthy of HN readers' time.
Do you have any doubts MS will close that site for any kind of IE trademark violation ? I also agreed with gm's comment...
Good question. A Microsoft Developer Evangelist emailed yesterday to say that they actually found it very funny. They've also had about six months to get in touch with me about the domain. Needless to say, they didn't.

"Pretty sophomoric, insignificant, and unworthy of HN readers' time."

I also agree with this assessment.

But please understand that I didn't do this to poke fun of Microsoft or anything like that. It was just funny at the time. I'd completely forgotten about it until yesterday morning when my inbox was suddenly flooded.

I'm not going to lie, you are a genius.
I shall be equally honest - you have an extremely low threshold for what counts as genius. :-)
=) I think its pretty funny to wake up so famous ?

IMO MS usually fail with their evangelists. Looks like MS too bureaucratic inside. I saw one very good MS enthusiast who now work for MS - now he is mostly ms advertiser. So i seriously doubt they can monitor all such notable points and be in touch.

And i should admit its pretty funny (despite its offtopically for HN) if this was done far before IE9 release. Offtopic: for best effect then - make a brouser detection and show different recommendations\redirects for other browsers ;). Be fair then ;)
